A rapidly growing international FinTech company, that is creating an innovative product for borrowing and lending digital currencies and assets, is seeking a Financial Controller based in Gibraltar. As the Financial Controller, reporting into the COO, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management, including financial and regulatory reporting, budgeting and forecast preparation, corporate accounting and the development of financial control policies and procedures. You will work alongside senior management in financial risk management, ensuring that key financial risks are effectively managed and controlled.

You will manage all accounting operations including billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, cashflow and balance sheet.
You’ll be responsible for coordinating and directing the preparation of the P&L, Balance Sheet and Cashflow budget, financial forecasts and report variances.
Coordinating the month and year-end close process, as well as preparing and publishing timely monthly financial statements will be a key requirement of the role.
You will be responsible for the preparation of any financial aspects of regulatory reporting.
Overseeing the management of the company’s tax liabilities and reporting requirements will be a key requirement.
You’ll be required to conduct necessary research into relevant developments in technical accounting standards, reporting requirements and tax filings in order to ensure the company remains compliant.
Key to your success in the role will be developing and documenting business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
You will ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
You will provide advice to other members of the management team on financial management and financial control matters as required.
What you’ll need to succeed:
You possess proven experience in a Financial Controller or equivalent position, with experience in Financial Services, Banking or FinTech advantageous.
You are a fully qualified Accountant (exam and time qualified), preferably ACA or international equivalent.
You possess thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures, with experience working under IFRS and preparing full financial statements under IFRS.
You possess experience with general ledger functions and the month-end and year-end close process.
You have excellent reporting skills and high levels of proficiency with Microsoft products and account software.
You have excellent written and spoken communication skills with the ability to explain complex accounting and finance matters to other stakeholders and teams in a clear and concise way.
You possess strong prioritising skills and the ability to multi-task, work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
