My first research interest was prediction markets: the use of a group of forecasters to determine the probability of a particular event occurring. My specialty is collective intelligence and the systems that use groups to produce solutions more optimal than what any individual could have provided. These systems are enabled by decentralization, diversity, complexity, and independent decisions. I've dedicated my career to researching (see my CV for my papers and presentations), designing, programming, and operating such systems for profit (e.g., as CTO of a startup). These principles are the foundation of Web3, blockchain, DAOs, and the type of society that crypto enables. I am a web applications developer (mostly Ruby on Rails these days), a novelist, and a Master of organizational learning and instructional technology.
Apparently, someone in London gets stabbed every 58 seconds. Poor guy.
