🚀 The Time I Almost DDoSed My Own Apartment A few years ago, I decided to run an Ethereum full node on my home server—because, you know: decentralization, self-sovereignty, and all that noble stuff.
I set it up, everything looked good... until my roommate messaged me while I was out:
“Hey, are we mining crypto or launching rockets? The Wi-Fi’s dead and my Zoom class sounds like a dial-up modem.”
Turns out, I’d accidentally set the node to sync everything from genesis with max priority. My modest home network, not ready for petabytes of blockchain history, basically surrendered.
Here’s what happened next:
Server fans spun like jet engine...
Why did the developer go broke? Because he used float instead of double at the crypto exchange. 😅
