What is a blind CV?
A blind CV is a candidate resume with personally identifying information stripped out β name, photo, email, phone number, and often the current employer. Recruitment agencies, executive search firms, and in-house talent teams use blind CVs to share candidates with clients without revealing identity, reduce unconscious bias in hiring, and protect candidates from being poached before a placement is agreed.
How to anonymize a resume (PDF) in seconds
- Upload a PDF resume, or load one from a CryptoJobsList applicant link.
- Select the Rectangle or Circle mask tool and drag over any PII β name, email, phone, address, profile photo.
- Add your agency logo (the default is CryptoJobsList β upload your own to white-label the CV).
- Click Download PNG. You get a single long image with all pages stitched together, ready to send.
Because the output is a flattened PNG, recipients cannot copy hidden text, extract metadata from the original PDF, or remove the masks. Itβs the safest way to share a candidate profile.
Remove PII from a CV
Common personally identifying information (PII) to redact from a resume before sending to a client:
- Full name and profile photo
- Email address and phone number
- Physical address, city, postcode
- LinkedIn, GitHub, Twitter/X handles and personal URLs
- Current employer (optional β some agencies prefer to reveal this)
- Date of birth, nationality, gender, marital status
White-label candidate resumes with your agency logo
Recruitment agencies often want to rebrand a candidate CV with their own letterhead before sending to clients. This tool lets you upload your agency logo (PNG or SVG) and stamp it on the resume at any position β a simple way to white-label CVs without needing Photoshop or a designer.
Redact names, emails and photos from resumes
The rectangle and circle mask tools let you cover any sensitive area of the resume with a solid colour (black by default, but any colour works). Masks are rendered on top of the resume image and baked into the final PNG export β there is no way for the recipient to uncover the hidden text.
Blind hiring & bias reduction
Research consistently shows that anonymized resumes lead to more diverse shortlists. By removing signals like name, gender, age, and educational background at the CV-review stage, hiring teams evaluate candidates on their skills and experience alone. Many enterprise clients now require blind CVs as part of their diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) policies.
