BitMart to Lay Off 100% of Staff as Exchange Announces Wind-Down on July 26, 2026

BitMart announced on July 26, 2026, that it will begin an orderly wind-down of its trading platform operations, resulting in layoffs affecting 100% of its workforce. The exchange did not disclose the number of jobs being eliminated.

The company said it would gradually stop accepting new user registrations and suspend cryptocurrency and fiat deposits from 01:30 UTC on July 26. At the same time, futures accounts will enter reduce-only mode, while spot trading will stop accepting new orders. Copy trading, grid trading, API trading and other automated services will also be discontinued in phases.

BitMart plans to discontinue all spot, futures and other trading services on August 26, 2026, at 01:00 UTC. The exchange said futures positions that remain open at that time may be settled according to the applicable mark price, index price or other settlement rules. BitMart Earn, staking, lending, Launchpad and other products will also be discontinued according to separate product arrangements.

The exchange attributed the decision to an evaluation of its “operating conditions, market environment, and future strategic direction.” BitMart described the move as a “difficult decision” and said it regretted having to take the action. The company thanked its users, partners and team members for their support since its establishment.

BitMart is a cryptocurrency exchange that provides spot and futures trading, as well as related services including staking, lending and automated trading products. The company plans to officially cease trading platform operations at 15:59 UTC on January 31, 2027. It said further details about product redemptions, settlements and related processing would be communicated through additional announcements and in-platform notifications.
