A Gibraltar based FinTech start-up, developing an innovative mobile consumer application for cryptocurrency investment management, is looking for a Compliance Officer. As Compliance Officer, reporting into the CEO and COO, you will be responsible for implementing and monitoring compliance processes, activities and procedures across the business, preparing compliance documents and reporting for both internal and external purposes, managing compliance risk in relation to KYC/AML and verification, as well as liaising with third parties including regulatory authorities.

You’ll coordinate and monitor the implementation of compliance activities across the business.
You will be responsible for ensuring that all internal processes and procedures are adequately documented to ensure business activities remain compliant with all applicable policies, laws and regulations at all times.
Articulating and translating both compliance requirements and internal processes into business/technical requirements and working alongside the development teams to systematically embed these will be key to your success in this role.
Providing guidance to all business stakeholders on how to remain compliant with relevant rules and regulations will be a key focus of this role.
You will design and produce compliance management reporting for the senior management team.
You will liaise with and help ensure there is effective communication with local and international regulators and legal bodies.
Providing thorough Compliance and Risk analysis on different issues requested by the management team will be pivotal to your success.
Verifying client’s identity in order to ensure the safety of the company and its products from both financial and legal risks.
Ensuring that the business operates and maintains effective and robust Fraud, KYC, AML and PFT processes and procedures will be key to the success of this role.
You will conduct ongoing risk assessments of the Company processes and procedures in light of various legal regulatory and operational requirements.
You will aspire to being the “go-to” person on compliance and regulatory matter for colleagues across the business.
You will assist with the development of compliance training and protocols, providing guidance and training in business-wide compliance policies and procedures, laws and regulations applicable to the business.
What you’ll need to succeed:
You possess proven experience in dealing with compliance, risk, fraud and regulatory matters in a similar role.
Strong working knowledge and hands-on experience delivering compliance outcomes in various operational areas including, but not limited to, AML, KYC, Data Protection.
Some previous experience in Financial Services working within the MiFID compliance framework would be considered advantageous
Previous experience dealing with regulators, statutory bodies or licensing bodies would be advantageous.
Excellent written and spoken communication skills with the ability to explain complex compliance and regulatory issues to other stakeholders and teams in a clear and concise way
You possess excellent prioritising skills and the ability to multi-task, work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
Proactive, results-driven, able to work on your own initiative and with strong attention to detail are all ways in which you would describe yourself.
You are proficient in MS Office Tools and MS Excel in particular.
