Defiant Media Inc. was founded in 2019 by Camila Russo, former Bloomberg News journalist and author of The Infinite Machine, the most read book on the history of Ethereum. Today, it has a core team of 17, plus a network of dozens of contributors. The Defiant publishes news stories and features, research reports, opinion columns, exclusive interviews and tutorials across its website, newsletters, podcast and YouTube channel. We are building a platform focusing on on-chain DeFi data which we expect will become an indispensable tool for investors, traders and analysts following the industry when we launch the first version in the coming months. Hundreds of thousands consume The Defiant content each month, and after its 10x growth in 2021, we expect that to climb into the millions this year.

We’re looking for a community manager who is experienced in the crypto space to engage with our community, create content for social media and help grow our membership base.

Responsibilities

  • Have a passion for Crypto, DeFi and Web3
  • Live on social media, especially Twitter
  • Enjoy creating, planning and scheduling content
  • Excellent writing, editing and communication skills in English. Other languages are a plus
  • Proven experience with Blockchain/Crypto/DeFi communications in an established agency, an in-house team, freelance, or a similar role
  • An ability to describe technical or data-rich information in a creative and informative way
  • Keen interest in Blockchain & DLT technologies, current trends and their various use-cases
  • Strong understanding of traditional financial market infrastructure and how/where Blockchain & DLT is best suited to bring about efficiencies
  • Deep understanding of how to best leverage Twitter, Instagram and Discord especially, but enough flexibility to engage on other mediums (eg, Reddit, TikTok, LinkedIn)
  • Ability to work independently and willingness to lead
  • Professional work ethic with an ability to work with a remote production team
  • Give and receive feedback on processes and quality of work
  • Strong organizational and content planning skills
  • Experience in data driven decisions

Task and Responsibilities

  • Develop community and social comms strategy
  • Create social and community content
  • Circulate and promote relevant content
  • Activity engage with community across all community properties
  • Grow the traffic to content, increase social metrics and increase membership
  • Monitor, report on and explain key analytics performance and value, ensuring they align with the KPIs central to membership growth.
  • Work in conjunction with our sales process to optimise commercial objectives.
