Coinbase is one of the oldest and largest crypto exchanges, and Coinbase Jobs are one of the most coveted in the industry. Founded in 2012, Coinbase is now a crypto heavyweight with over 68 million verified users and 1,250 employees. Coinbase even went public in 2021 on Nasdaq via a direct listing.
Coinbase was launched by Brian Armstrong and Fred Ehrsam. It is based in San Francisco, California. However, the exchange now has offices spread across multiple cities in US, Europe, and Asia. Coinbase brought in a revenue of $2.23 Billion in Q2 2020, and at the peak of its share price, its valuation exceeded $100 Billion.
Coinbase does not advertise a lot of internship opportunities. However, they do come from time to time.
Coinbase has also embraced remote jobs. Pretty much most positions that Coinbase is hiring for now are remote. However, Coinbase Remote Jobs are country-specific. Meaning, Coinbase still hires people from the countries they operate in, but the positions themselves are remote.
Coinbase is growing rapidly, and at any given time, Coinbase has hundreds of open jobs. Check out the jobs below if you're looking to work for Coinbase.
Coinbase has built the world's leading compliant cryptocurrency platform serving over 73 million accounts in more than 100 countries. With multiple successful products, and our vocal advocacy for blockchain technology, we have played a major part in mainstream awareness and adoption of cryptocurrency. We are proud to offer an entire suite of products that are helping build the cryptoeconomy and increase economic freedom around the world.
There are a few things we look for across all hires we make at Coinbase, regardless of role or team. First, we look for signals that a candidate will thrive in a culture like ours, where we default to trust, embrace feedback, disrupt ourselves, and expect sustained high performance because we play as a championship team. Second, we expect all employees to commit to our mission-focused approach to our work. Finally, we seek people with the desire and capacity to build and share expertise in the frontier technologies of crypto and blockchain, in whatever way is most relevant to their role.
As Director, Business Development - NFTs, you will be responsible for creating, leading and operationalizing programs that help launch and scale our recently announced Coinbase NFT marketplace. Your mission will be to build and operationalize a comprehensive strategy that defines how Coinbase can attract and retain artists, brands and intellectual property holders -- from sourcing amazing talent and forging strong content relationships to negotiating deal terms & contracts and ensuring balanced marketplace growth and operations.Â
You will also directly own and drive the company’s most important deals in support of our NFT strategy, while developing and cultivating relationships with creators, agencies, platforms and other key partners that can help proliferate the NFT ecosystem.
You will do this while building and leading a world-class team of business development leaders, program managers, partner outreach representatives and data/business analysts. We will also rely on you to provide strategic thought leadership to highly cross-functional teams, from Product and Engineering to Legal and Customer Operations.
What you’ll be doing (ie. job duties):
- Secure Key Partnerships to Support our NFT Growth Strategy

- Design and operationalize partner incentive programs that increase awareness of and accelerate demand for our NFT marketplace within the creator community.
- Develop and enter into promotional programs and agreements that help increase the visibility and success of our launch partners, as well as the Coinbase NFT marketplace.
- Develop Playbooks for Scaling NFT Inventory
- Create and operationalize go-to-market strategies, including programs that enable scalable inbound pipelines and outreach plans for both well-known and up-and-coming creators. Negotiate and implement channel partnerships to help grow both NFT supply and demand.
- Working with marketing and product, build compelling sales collateral and talking points to help the creator community understand the value propositions and competitive advantages of the Coinbase NFT platform.
- Identify, engage and enter into strategic partnerships with tools, technologies and platforms that make it easier and faster for creators to mint, track, monetize and monitor their intellectual property.
- Develop standardized methods and practices that help automate and streamline deal structuring and negotiating with creators, including self-service opportunities.
- Proliferate the Coinbase NFT Ecosystem
- Help shape NFT product roadmaps by recommending new features through problem statements supported with data, creator feedback, industry insights and competitive intelligence.
- Create and manage a “voice of the creator” program that helps cross-functional teams understand creator concerns and reservations with the Coinbase NFT marketplace.
- Working closely with our external partners and internal teams, identify actionable ways to connect the Coinbase NFT platform and crypto ecosystem with new verticals (e.g., ticketing).
- Inspire the Creator Community
- Develop and facilitate scalable community engagement and outreach programs (e.g., online and offline events) that help Coinbase connect with brands, artists, musicians, developers, games, IP holders and more. Create programs that help identify and engage rising stars.
- Ensure Coinbase has an active voice wherever creators are actively discussing NFTs and crypto in online channels like Discord and Reddit, as well as offline channels like events and conferences.
- Manage and scale programs that can provide internal stakeholders with industry insights that support product development, work stream prioritizations and risk assessments. Create and distribute reports on emerging trends and opportunities.
- Develop Top Talent
- Lead recruiting, onboarding and performance management for your team. Serve as a coach and mentor for leaders and team members in cross-functional teams.Â
- Aim for at least 80% of your team making an outsized impact by exceeding the highest bars for what they do, and how they do it.Â
