
Meld is looking for two Engineering Managers, who can lead separate teams comprising frontend, backend and devop engineers. One team focuses on our core Meld platform. The other will work on a new blockchain based project. All team members work remote and are spread across multiple geographical locations. The Engineering Manager roles will be broad and will require the successful applicant(s) to contribute to code, build out successful products and systems, manage key relationships, and manage the team.
You do not need to be a blockchain engineer, but if you have an interest in this rapidly developing industry, this provides the perfect opportunity.
You will be passionate about learning, and comfortable managing a lot of moving parts. Leadership, attention to detail, and being comfortable learning new technologies and systems will be key attributes.
You will:
- Manage a diverse, globally-distributed, multi-disciplinary team of software engineers to achieve the best outcomes for Meld.
- Be responsible for the overall planning, execution, and success of complex technical projects from idea to product release
- Manage product roadmap, sprint planning and all relevant engineering processes including task planning and code reviews
- Drive quarterly goal setting, prioritization, and individual work coordination
- Mentor engineers on the team and conduct regular 1-1s.
- Contribute technically to projects (Svelte, Nodejs, Golang) - Conduct code reviews, contribute to product architecture and be involved in solving bugs and delivering small features
- Work closely with the leadership team to ensure we're building the best versions of the products we imagine
We are looking for someone who has:
- Excellent written verbal and interpersonal skills to be able to manage a remote team with diverse language, social and cultural backgrounds
- Deep technical knowledge in software and systems – able to dive into details with engineers, and distill to a high level for non-technical audiences
- Is comfortable discussing technical problems and solutions with engineers, understand the problem space, technology and can develop a good intuition to aid in decision making
- Experience in gathering requirements, developing specifications, and driving execution
- Technical credibility - Past experience as a lead engineer
- Experience managing software product releases
- Startup experience
- Humility

- Experience at blockchain startups or building SaaS products
