Frontend Developer

Work as part of our globally distributed engineering team with IT, Product, Marketing and Business Development teams to define, develop, and deliver best- in class frontend solutions. Become an essential member of this disciplined, cross-functional engineering group, coordinating and consulting on work across countries and functions. Focusing on Blockstate’s front end, you will shape the first impression of our venture. You will care about our audience by designing and implementing data presentation processes that show our innovative approach.

Required domain knowledge

The Web3 infrastructure – you have heard about and used the Web3, the frontend for the Ethereum blockchain written in Javascript Implementing visual and interactive elements that users engage with through their web browser when using a web application Management of external contractors – offloading work packages to external agencies and individual freelancers is not new to you Financial data visualisation – we source, process and present large amounts of financial data. Knowledge about graph plotting frameworks, browser-based data analysis tools and basic concepts of a good UI are expected Secure delivery – you are competent with front-end security for web-based applications that do not allow the bad guys to steal our customer’s precious data Mobile-first – you know best practices for mobile development by heart Our Stack React.js, nodejs and plain Javascript for our web applications Web3 for interactions with the Ethereum blockchain Modern software engineering practices (TDD / CI / CD etc) Distributed Cloud Services and containerization tools like Docker

Be a team player, but remember your job: You’ll need to be very comfortable working day-to-day as part of a development team, shipping code while remaining accountable specifically to the Frontend Delivery group Be a leader for freelancers and agencies that help us with our work Be accountable and own the outcomes; Blockstate’s software runs operations for major financial markets worldwide. It must scale. You are leading that effort Understand our products in depth: you are the expert on enterprise capability of our platforms and can talk about them at business level too. What problems do they solve? Have a detailed awareness of our priorities, both as a business and at the individual product level. Develop your test plans with that firmly in mind Remember your mission: Your group is responsible for creating an environment in which software performance and scalability are integral to the development process so you have to think about how to get your software engineer colleagues on board Be ‘all in’: Fix broken things.
