Frontend Engineer

We started Eco to lead consumers to use crypto where it matters: in everyday spending and saving. As a solution to so many of our everyday “money problems” (high fees, data insecurity, transfer limits and restrictions), crypto enables benefits banks can’t match. Crypto even makes it possible to rethink our current payment systems from the ground up—and have more control over our money than ever before. 

We believe that while cryptocurrencies can represent a fundamental upgrade over traditional money—and can dramatically improve users' lives—they won't work without widespread distribution and a compelling path to adoption. We’ve spent two years building this pathway. It starts with the Eco App, empowering users to earn while their money sits, and when it moves—with those compounding effects yielding a 10x improvement over how users manage their finances today. The journey ends (or just begins) with the Eco Currency, built for payments and designed for community ownership, with fair distribution of economic value.

As a Frontend Engineer at Eco, you will: 

• Focus on client-side UI (working primarily in React/React Native) in the Eco App and related web applications.
• Help our backend team define necessary operations and APIs to ensure best possible user experience.
• Take responsibility for the development and launch of individual features, from business requirements through to delivery.
• Debug user-facing issues, and support our customer service team in delivering solutions when our users encounter problems (a responsibility we take very seriously, and share teamwide).
• Maintain and extend automated tests of our web and mobile applications, balancing test coverage, speed of development, and user trust.

We’re looking for you if:

• Continuously strive to improve product user experience, including protecting user privacy, to establish and maintain user confidence.
• You consider discipline, integrity and unparalleled work ethic to be three of your core values.
• You have demonstrated experience building web or mobile applications that have shipped to millions of users, especially using React Native.
• You have a designer’s sentiment and attention to detail, especially regarding user experience, security and privacy.
• You are collaborative by default with outstanding communication skills, especially written.
• Bonus points if you already already have: mobile development experience, and knowledge of payment technology and/or blockchain!
