Job Description

Position Overview

 The Director of Marketing is responsible for creating and implementing strategic and tactical communication plans designed to drive new business by increasing new customers and growing revenues from existing customers. The Director of Marketing will establish a creative, integrated, multi-channel marketing department that produces brand awareness for Mercury Digital Assets, provides a recurrent inflow of sales leads, and measures the return on investment for marketing activities. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, resourceful, and possess strong communication and leadership skills.

This role can work in our Chicago office or remotely but must be able to work the majority working hours during US business hours.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement the annual marketing plan for Mercury
  • Translate the business goals and strategies into brand portfolio objectives and marketing strategies
  • Plan and administer the marketing operations budget
  • Oversee marketing communications, including branding, public relations, advertising, social media, website design, and market research management
  • Manage the creation of all marketing collateral and integration of marketing and sales support tools
  • Negotiate with media agencies and secure agreements that are beneficial to Mercury, including the development of promotional materials, editing existing materials, and delivering these materials using a range of mediums (online, social media, etc.)
  • Collaborate with executive management and stakeholders on strategic planning, including the development of promotions, client presentations, contests, and other offers designed to drive customer acquisition and engagement
  • Work with the information technology team and stakeholders to develop and implement client contact and prospecting systems, including CRM, marketing automation, and user analytics systems
  • Conduct research and evaluation of vendor solutions and manage vendor relationships
  • Execute integrated campaigns through search engine marketing, display advertising, social media, content marketing, affiliate marketing, and public relations to generate customer demand and sales leads
  • Measure and report campaign results and general marketing department performance to executive management
  • Identify trends and competitive intelligence insights to optimize marketing spend and performance

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field required
  • Minimum of 5 years in a marketing management position working with small to mid-size organizations
  • Crypto experience is highly preferred, specifically in the areas of marketing B2B products or enterprise technology solutions
  • Financial services experience preferred, specifically in the areas of online trading or trading technology
  • In-depth knowledge of marketing strategies, concepts, and best practices
  • Expertise in digital marketing, including paid and organic search, website design, SEO, social advertising, email marketing, inbound marketing, and other online marketing
  • Strong project management and performance measurement skills
  • Ability to compile and analyze performance data to develop key metrics that support decision-making for resource allocation and business planning
  • Excellent skills in written and verbal communication, negotiation, and relationship building
  • Effective time management, organization, and leadership skills
  • Good relationships with agencies, networks, and other strategic partners
