Altcoin Buzz is an independent digital media outlet that delivers the latest news and opinions in the world of Cryptocurrencies, Blockchain Technology, Regulations, Adoption, and Blockchain Gaming. Altcoin Buzz has garnered over 244,000 YouTube subscribers, 95k+ Twitter followers, and 400,000 monthly website views among other social media channels. Our mission is to empower crypto enthusiasts, investors, blockchain founders, and analysts with relevant content to better understand and experience the crypto revolution and stay up to date with the crypto industry.
We are looking for an additional News Editor for our media website - altcoinbuzz.io. This is a work-from-anywhere remote full-time job with a preference for candidates in the Asia Pacific timezone. The News Editor will report directly to the COO and General Manager.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for:
Content Research & Script Writing
- Write research reports on identified projects and trends.
- Modify raw crypto reports to a script format, for the Youtube Team
- Cultivate a network of sources for information on key industry players.
- Maintain and update Altcoin Buzz source files.
Publication Management
- Implement editorial strategy (along with other editors and senior writers) and take over the day-to-day responsibility for editorial output and standards.
- Develop a daily content schedule for the media website - altcoinbuzz.io
- Coordinate content with the editorial team, ensure consistency, quality standards, authenticity, and manage deadlines.
- Identify and allocate trending news
- Incorporate the best SEO practices.
- Fact check and copy-edit all content per Altcoin Buzz publication guidelines
- Edit and publish daily on WordPress backend (7 - 10 articles per day)
- Develop standard operating procedures along with other Editors and Senior Writers.
Team Management & Recruitment
- Help build out a freelance network of contributors. Mentor and onboard writers.
- Educate the Editorial team on the latest happenings and best practices.
Cross Team Collaboration
- Collaborate with the business development team and connect possible leads for business partnerships.
- Work proactively with senior writers and business development teams to ensure that all sponsored or earned media content meets requirements.
Position Requirements
- Ideal experience of 2-5 years with supporting portfolio as an Editor in a fintech or cryptocurrency media outlet.
- Excellent command over the English language - both verbal and written
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, SEO Copywriting best practices, WordPress is a must.
- Must be able to multi-task.
- Must have a keen interest in cryptocurrency projects.
Preferred
- Enthusiastic about building a community and must be aware of cryptocurrency trends.
- Proactive at making things happen. Very organized and efficient.
- Outstanding communicator (online and offline) with a passion for engaging with people. Energy, enthusiasm, and a “can-do” attitude to work within a startup ecosystem.
- Experience in journalism and/or blogging.
- A high degree of personal loyalty & integrity.
