Research Analyst

We are looking for a Research Analyst to join our Research team to support CryptoCompare's growing suite of industry research reports, market analysis, and product development. This is a great role for someone passionate about cryptocurrency markets and working with big data - our systems process terabytes of real-time data each day while CryptoCompare’s proprietary API serves a daily average of 750 million API calls to 5 billion unique users. CryptoCompare’s in-house research team works closely with these data sets to produce market insights and reports that are widely read by institutional investors looking to gain better knowledge of digital asset markets. The role will work collaboratively with other data and research analysts to derive data insights, write up findings (short and long form reports, media requests, and social media), as well as ideate and build existing and future research reports.

Responsibilities include:

• Working with the Research Team to assist with written analysis and data insights, supporting our suite of exchange research products.
• Work will be varied - from data collection, charting, analysis, report writing, proof of concept work for new research reports and products using crypto-related datasets.
• Rapid responses to any data and charting requests using CryptoCompare's proprietary API and other methods.
• Conducting general industry research on crypto-related topics

Minimum Requirements:

• 1-2 years relevant work experience preferred, graduate candidates will also be considered
• Masters or Bachelors in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or similar fields.
• Strong Excel skills, ability to pivot and chart data.
• Ability to write clearly and present meaningful research findings
• Numerical competency, ability to think critically and extract insights from data. Comfortable with large, varied data sets.
• Experience with data collection, validation, processing and charting.
• Team player, good communication, willingness to learn, ability to work independently, resourceful.

Desirable:

• Knowledge of crypto, exchanges, regulation
• Trading platform knowledge
• Financial markets knowledge, familiarity with derivatives and FX terminology.
• Experience with Tableau or similar, advanced Excel knowledge
