Senior Project Director, Licensing Compliance

Ripple is expanding its team and seeks to hire an experienced Senior Project Director, Licensing. This role will be focused on managing various licensing work streams as Ripple prepares to globally launch various licensed products and services.

Reporting to the Ripple CFO in the US, you will partner closely with cross-functional teams including Legal, Compliance, Policy, Finance, Tax, Product, Engineering, Information Security, Customer Success, Payment Operations and Data, as well as with external legal and consulting teams, to obtain the company’s licenses worldwide, ensure launch-ready licensing compliance across the organization, and manage Ripple’s global license portfolio. Over time this role will transition into the Compliance function, responsible for maintaining global licensing.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop end-to-end project plans for the company’s licenses, define scope and project objectives and interface with cross-functional teams from the original license application phase until the readiness/final implementation phase.
  • Oversee the company’s licensing applications, meeting filing deadlines, coordinating prompt and detailed responses to regulators’ follow-up inquiries.
  • Work cross-functionally to ensure regulatory requirements, including industry best practices, are captured within all new licensed products and services prior to launch.
  • Collaborate with functional leads to develop comprehensive process documentation reflecting how regulatory requirements are satisfied.
  • Create and maintain license project schedules within each cross-function by identifying and monitoring timelines, milestones, tasks, resources, dependencies, and critical paths. 
  • Actively communicate project progress, issues, and resolutions to company leadership and team stakeholders, including developing status reports for senior management.
  • Make strategic recommendations to senior management and alert cross-functional teams of any risk associated with the projects managed.
  • Post licensing, develop  and maintain comprehensive and accurate regulatory reporting to meet local requirements depending on the licensing jurisdiction.
  • Manage the company’s global license portfolio, coordinating the company’s response to ongoing regulatory inquiries and exams and managing any resulting remediation efforts.

What We’re Looking For

  • 7-10+ years experience managing a global licensing portfolio management.
  • Demonstrated experience engaging with regulators.
  • Prior experience managing a company through the process of obtaining bank charter or money transmitter licenses 
  • Ideal candidate will have prior experience in regulatory or compliance focused role
  • Experience in a financial institution or other highly regulated industry a plus
  • Experience developing and implementing simultaneous workflows
  • Proven ability to distill complex regulatory requirements into actionable project plans
  • Ability to leverage data to inform and support decisions by a variety of stakeholders
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; at ease communicating and presenting to senior management
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred, not required
