PURPOSE

The Tax and Regulatory Compliance Manager will support the Finance team in developing corporate tax strategy and ensure all regulatory and tax filings are timely filed. This person will be a self-starter, motivated, high-potential performer with strong financial analytic skills, attention to detail and timeliness, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Centrally coordinate Coinme’s global regulatory agenda to manage on-time report filing, on-site exams, ad-hoc meetings, and periodic requests for information
  • Work closely with third party advisors (consulting, legal, and audit) to ensure that all regulatory compliance commitments are met
  • Manage the preparation, review and filing of various tax returns and reporting
  • Identify opportunities for synergy, overlap, or ability to leverage efforts between various regulatory commitments
  • Maintain calendar of Coinme’s regulatory landscape related to standing regulatory and tax filings, meetings, exams, and key deliverables
  • Remain up to date on current tax practices and changes in tax law
  • Support and work to continuously improve and transform processes to enable a lean but effective team
  • Build and foster strong working relationships with internal teams
  • Assist in coordinating and preparing support for financial audits and reviews
  • Ad hoc tasks and special reporting projects, as necessary 

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERTISE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Taxation, Business Administration, or related field
  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of and/or experience with state and local tax filings, financial risk, and reporting to government entities
  • Familiarity with accounting concepts, tax, and regulatory reporting processes
  • Excellent self-management practices with a demonstrated ability to be self-directed and resourceful
  • Ability to maintain high performance under tight deadlines, including managing multiple projects simultaneously, with exceptional quality, organization and attention to detail in a fast paced and rapidly changing environment
  • Process-oriented with a comfortability and excitement to build “from the ground up”
  • Enjoys collaborating and celebrating successes with teammates 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

PREFERRED

  • Active CPA license and/or tax experience at a CPA firm with clients in technology or financial services industries
  • Knowledge of and/or experience with digital assets
  • Experience with regulatory reporting requirements of financial services businesses
  • Experience working at a high-growth technology company
  • Experience in dealing with international tax matters
