Technical Writer (English + Russian)

The TON Foundation is looking to hire a Technical Writer.

This is a fully remote opportunity for residents living between GMT and GMT+6.

This job is for candidates that speak both Russian and English, and have over 5 years of technical writing experience in English.

We are open to both a part-time hire, as well as a full-time hire. We have a preference for the latter. Both part-time candidates and full-time candidates are welcome to apply.

The TON Foundation is an organization that exists to advance The Open Network blockchain and related products. TON is a novel, high-throughput, third-generation Proof of Stake blockchain designed by Nikolai Durov in 2017. For the first several years of its existence, it was developed by the Telegram team. In 2020, the TON project was handed over to the TON foundation for further development and advancement.

As our first technical writer, you will be working closely with the core development team on documenting TONs technical features, APIs and libraries for technical audiences.

You'll also be responsible for documenting some of TONs more esoteric features and communicating them to a wide range of audiences, both technical and non-technical.

Your responsibilities:

• Work closely with TON core developers to understand and document the ins and outs of TON and related libraries, create API documentation, and provide code examples.
• Create a variety of content, including but not limited to documentation, documents, blogs, longer posts, tutorials, reference applications, and more - on short deadlines, and in-depth
• Ensure consistency in voice, tone, and language
• Publish and maintain templates that will help scale written documentation
• Oversee the growth of the Technical Writer function at the TON Foundation

What we look for in you (ie. job requirements):

• Some experience with crypto - enthusiasts are welcome to apply
• 5+ years of technical writing experience
• Excellent technical spoken Russian and English, and excellent technical written English
• Experience owning the end-to-end documentation creation process
• Ability to work with content formatting in Markdown, HTML, CSS.
• Ability to interpret example code written in multiple programming languages, to an extent to create and maintain code samples as needed.
• Ability to thrive in an ambiguous environment with very little oversight, and work with multiple stakeholders to deliver results on deadline

The salary range for this position is well above market. It varies based on candidate fit.
