User Experience Lead

We’re looking for our first design hire, a User Experience Lead, to build and grow the experience discipline. This role will be instrumental in how we move forward and will help own the design of our customer facing applications, as well as internal tools and portals. From archetypes and customer journeys to workshops and user testing, we’re searching for someone who has the experience to hit the ground running and isn’t afraid to get their hands dirty in the process.

 

About the Role

  • You’ll be the first UX hire, tasked with building and owning the experience design discipline across all digital properties
  • Transform business needs, research, data, and other user insights into innovative concepts that solve user needs 
  • Run co-creation sessions (including sketching, ideation, and prototyping) and facilitate workshops
  • Craft core deliverables and artifacts (sitemaps, audits, process flows, design systems, high-fidelity mockups, etc.)
  • Set visual direction and provide experiential guidance for our digital ecosystem that spans mobile applications, web portals, outreach marketing, and more.
  • Own and implement a design process that efficiently moves ideas from concept to design
  • Partner closely with product management and leadership to define and build amazing human-centered experiences.
  • Collaborate with our existing design and brand agencies, with the intent to eventually takeover those workstreams in-house
  • Help build a design system that combines delight and systematic thinking to deliver incredible experiences for global audiences.
  • Work with product leadership to establish unified strategic and experiential approaches.
  • Eventually, you’ll build out the UX/UI organization, hiring and leading a team of design professionals to implement best-in-class experiences

 

Your background

  • A strong portfolio of work that spans a wide variety of digital products and services
  • 8+ years in a UX/UI role, with a focus on creating human-centered, digital experiences
  • The capacity and desire to lead a team of creatives
  • A self-starter who thrives in ambiguity and finding the right course of action
  • Passion for continual practice and process improvement
  • Strong understanding of common software development practices 
  • Continued awareness of design trends and innovation

 

Nice to Have

  • Preferably be based in NYC, but we’re open to anyone who can work Eastern Time hours
  • Previous experience in a consumer-focused tech organization
  • Fintech or Financial Services experience
  • Prior experience taking an app from ideation to launch
  • Familiarity with the cryptocurrency & blockchain space
