Bitcoin, and the cryptocurrencies that followed it are some of the most exciting technologies to have developed in my lifetime. Cryptocurrency can potentially reframe our thinking about financial institutions and instruments, and democratize them, allowing anyone to access them. While I do not have much technical experience with cryptocurrency, I think it's an important technology and one I would like to build a deep understanding of. I've worked on much of the technologies surrounding blockchains, including systems design, network programming, and ASIC design. I've also worked with several of the technologies referenced in the listing. I think I could leverage these skills to help develop SideShift's technology if a team were willing to help me develop the relevant understanding of cryptocurrencies. I'm excited to work at SideShift because it provides an opportunity to apply my existing skills while developing an understanding of technologies that interest me, and because the service it provides is immediately useful. I was at one point paid in cryptocurrency for a project I worked on, and converting it to other currencies was both time consuming and highly irregular. The ability to convert between various currencies in a safe and uniform way is super valuable. I have experience many of the core technologies you're using, so I'm confident that with a bit of help on some of the knowledge I don't have I could contribute valuable work immediately while growing to meet new challenges.
