While being passionate about finance and investments, I first wanted to be a PM for a family office or hedge fund of some sort, which is why I enrolled in the CFA. Then I got into crypto, I have a couple of really smart friends who also understand DeFi and explained everything to me really carefully. I began doing daily research, fully trying to understand what DeFi is, what it's solving, who is behind it, and HOW is everything working. Trying to learn all the protocols and income strategies is tough but I'm really enjoying the ride, it's even more exciting that it's ever-changing and new protocols are coming out all the time so evaluating is a great challenge from a finance perspective. I'm now really passionate about crypto, I went from 100/0 stocks/crypto to 80/20 crypto/stocks, but with risk management principles, good understanding of what I'm doing and a balance between passive income and some more riskier degen investments. I already was a heavy twitter user, so transitioning to crypto twitter was very smooth. I used discord for gaming so transition was the same. I listen to twitter spaces and read and learn all about a certain ecosystem or protocol on both twitter and discord.
