As a Runtime Engineer you will primarily be responsible for implementing the native “business” or “application” logic of the Subspace Network by writing Substrate runtime pallets using the Rust language.<h3>In this role you will: </h3><ul><ul><li>Implement native functionality for the Subspace Network encapsulated within Substrate pallets, such as fungible and non fungible tokens, DeFi protocols, and smart contract language interfaces, to name a few.</li><li>Learn our decoupled execution framework, allowing for scalable layer two app chains (domains) our version of enshrined rollups, through which most of these pallets will be expressed as microservices. </li><li>Extend, improve, and reuse existing projects such as pallet-contracts and pallet-frontier, exposing existing smart contract languages on our networkProactively maintain documentation, write tests, devise benchmarks, while monitoring and providing support for our user base.</li><li>Collaborate with engineers across our protocol, integrations, and product teams.</li></ul></ul><h3>Key Requirements: </h3><ul><ul><li>A minimum of one year industry experience with the Substrate framework, with a strong understanding of Substrate FRAME, having implemented at least one pallet end-to-end that was deployed to a production environment.</li><li>A minimum of two years experience with the Rust programming language, along with a strong understanding of language fundamentals and familiarity with the open-source ecosystem.</li><li>Experience building scalable solutions on AWS or Digital Ocean.</li><li>Experience working with container technologies like Docker.A passion for decentralized, peer-to-peer systems and Web3 technologies.</li></ul></ul><h3>Bonus Experience: </h3><ul><ul><li>Experience launching new Substrate based parachain or solochain within the Dotsama ecosystem.</li><li>A theoretical background in distributed systems, such as consensus algorithms, as well as cryptographic fundamentals.</li><li>Experience writing native runtime logic or smart contracts  for other within other ecosystem (Cosmos SDK, Solidity, Solana, Near, etc).</li><li>Familiarity with VMs used in blockchains (Wasm/EVM) and gas metering implementations.</li><li>Experience working with large open-source codebases.</li></ul></ul><h3>What We Offer: </h3><ul><ul><li>Work remotely from anywhere in the world.</li><li>A competitive salary with generous equity and token grants.</li><li>Medical, dental, and vision insurance (US-based only).</li><li>A unique opportunity to shape the future of the Subspace Network and play a critical role in building the world’s most scalable blockchain.  </li><li>Company-sponsored team offsites in various locations around the world.</li></ul></ul>
