Data scientist

At Almanak, we utilize knowledge, data and robust techniques from the algorithmic trading industry to advise key web3 builders and decision makers. 

Currently we are seeking a Data Scientist with expertise in machine learning and web3 to join our product team and facilitate the creation and shipment of cutting edge products and innovation.

This role would suit someone who has worked in a data science role within an enterprise-oriented industry, a cryptocurrency company, or has a strong interest to apply a strong data science background in a cryptocurrency project.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze raw data: assessing quality, cleansing, and structuring for downstream processing.
• Design and run experiments in our custom simulation infrastructure to optimize DAOs economics and decision making process.
• Collaborate with Engineering to bring analytical prototypes to production.
• Build dashboards and create data visualizations that advise Defi and Gaming protocols on risk and capital efficiency management.
• Participate in product strategy sessions and support the team from the earliest initial stages.

Basic Qualifications:

• Fluent in English, written and spoken, especially in the data-science related vocabulary.
• 3+ years prior professional experience as a data scientist.
• Domain expertise in at least one of the following: Financial machine learning, reinforcement learning, complex system control, graph theory, bayesian and causal networks, evolutionary algos, advanced data visualization.
• Solid mathematical background.
• Solid experience with main Python frameworks.
• Experience with stochastic modeling.

Optional Qualifications:

• Good understanding of DeFi / crypto financial primitives and the web3 landscape.
• Prior experience with high frequency trading software development.
• Understanding of Defi / Crypto exploits vectors and risks.
