Responsibilities
- Partner with operations teams to ensure records from user experience through to financial statements
- Monthly close of entities, including billing, journal entries, account reconciliations and account analysis
- Review of reconciliations and supporting schedules prepared by other members of accounting teams
- Work with other entity controllers to complete inter-company reconciliations and ensure inter-company transactions are handled appropriately with group and local statutory requirements
- Be a functional expert in local accounting and financial reporting related matters, and work with the Global Consolidation team in ensuring appropriate consolidation and timely reporting
- Lead any local audits, statutory filings and regulatory filings ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the month end close reporting process
- Implement appropriate financial systems as needed
Requirements
- At least 8 years of experience in a combination of industry, preferably in FinTech, and Big 4 public accounting experience with at least 5 years in a general accounting or controllership function
- Bachelors degree and a Qualified Accountant (CPA, CA, ACCA, or similar)
- Experienced with International accounting and proficient in IFRS
- The proven ability to design and implement effective operational controls and processes in a highly regulated environment
- Proficient with Netsuite or similar ERP required
- Independent and comfortable in a high growth company where structure, procedures and policies are in development
- Adapt to a face paced continuous learning environment and show a willingness to take on additional responsibility, where required
- Passion for cryptocurrency and blockchain technology, with a desire to stay informed about industry developments and trends
