Senior Backend Engineer

We build APIs, background jobs, automations and interfaces manipulating data to bring insights and efficiency across Binance and leaders’ teams.

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain backend services that supports our data analytics products.
• Articulate a long term vision for maintaining and scaling our backend systems.
• Work with data/backend/frontend engineers, Data Analysts, QA, product managers and senior leadership to turn our product and technical vision into a tangible roadmap every quarter.
• Translate business requirements and use cases into functional applications.
• Design, build, document and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Typescript and Python code.
• Review, test, and verify code for adherence to quality and security standards.
• Ensure, the best possible performance, quality, and reliability of the applications.
• Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience with full lifecycle of project development.
• Strong skills in Node, ideally Typescript.
• Strong skills in SQL and popular RDBMS.
• Extensive experience in software design, architecture, development integration.
• Solid knowledge of API design and development.
• Experience working with React-based UIs.

Preferred:

• Bias to action, experience with sound prototyping and fast iterations.
• Experience with Big data systems (column-oriented storage, database performance, large transfer challenges, data sensitivity at rest/in motion, ...) and collaborating with data engineers.
• Experience in high velocity development environments and CICD approaches.
• Skilled in Python and related backend stacks (Celery, jupyter notebooks, automations, chat bots).
• Crypto industry acumen.
