Dear Brett Shear, I first heard of Bitcoin in early 2012 from a Hacker News article and pretty much blew it off as many did at the time. It wasn't until a year later, someone asked me my thoughts on Bitcoin in person after giving a speech on payment security. This was the first time Bitcoin existed outside of the internet for me, which triggered an investigation on it. It was after listening to Andreas Antonopoulos' enthusiasm for the technology that got me fascinated with blockchain so much so that we managed to get him on our podcast!
