The Associate Director of Events & Sponsorships is creative and motivated by the challenge of producing unique and high-impact experiences for some of the most recognized names in the industry, inside and outside of The Block, in-person and virtual. The position requires both a strategic and operational mindset, excellent communication and project management skills, and is detail-oriented and deadline-focused. This position will report to the Executive Vice President of Marketing and will be an integral part of The Block's brand and engagement strategy. Responsibilities
- In collaboration with Marketing, help develop an overall events strategy with associated goals, events playbook, and process to engage events organizers
- Identify and help facilitate conference sponsorships, media partnerships, and speaking engagements
- Manage end-to-end event and partnership planning including all logistics (venues, invite lists, vendors, speaking opportunities, media partnership details, entertainment, technology, content, sourcing speakers, etc.)
- Take the lead in negotiating partnerships and contracts, including but not limited to media access, accommodations, event space, vendors
- Partner with Legal and Marketing on contracts and budgets
- Travel onsite as needed to execute events or support partnerships
- Analyze, assess and report event success; create a framework to report and measure
- Work with the marketing team on pre, during, and post-event promotional strategy
- Provide a post-event debrief for each event for key stakeholders that includes an analysis of attendees, key wins, and areas of improvement for the next event
- Stay on top of both crypto and event industry news to stay connected on new developments in the space and new and creative ways to execute an event
- Facilitate conversations with stakeholders to gather and share event ideas and potential partnerships
Qualifications
- You love growing in a fast-paced environment while multitasking, re-prioritizing projects, and communicating priority updates to internal and external stakeholders
- A minimum of 6 years ofĀ experience working in event management, budgeting, strategic partnerships, program management, or sponsorships
- Wisdom to know when to escalate, inform and advise on both opportunities and issues to executive sponsors
- A keen sense for attendee experiences
- Excellent communication, writing, and executive-level presentation skills
- Willingness to travel as events are often out of state or country
- Working knowledge on how to integrate technology-based solutions to conferences and events (virtual, live or hybrid)
- Experience working with multiple technology platforms, including virtual platforms (3-D and regular), streaming platforms (i.e. Zoom, BlueJeans Network, Go to Webinar, Microsoft Teams etc.), and event registration software (CVent, Eventbrite, etc.)
