Benefits Specialist
Remote: Texas
As the Benefits Specialist, Â you will provide support to employees across the organization with a high level of customer focus, efficiency, timeliness, and responsiveness. This position is responsible for assisting with the administration of all benefits and retirement programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, and 401(k) plan.

Benefit Administration
- Administer and vender manager various employee programs, such as group health, flexible spending accounts, dental and vision, accident and disability, life insurance, 401(k), wellness and COBRA benefits.
- Coordinate workers' compensation claims with third-party administrators and follow up on claims.
- Prepare and set up meetings designed to help employees obtain information and understand company benefits and other related incentive programs.
- Conduct benefits orientations and explain benefits including the self-enrollment system.
- Assist Benefits Manager in obtaining statistics and information in the renewal process of any health, life and retirement plans that benefit the company.
- In coordination with the Benefits Manager, maintain employee benefits systems and ensure benefits changes are transferred appropriately for payroll deductions.
- Processes and administers all leave-of-absence requests and disability paperwork: medical, personal, disability and FMLA.
- Conduct 401K Reconciliation and True-up
- Oversee the processing of required files to payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate record-keeping and proper deductions.
- Performs customer service functions by answering manager and employee requests /questions including the coordination of claim assistance with third party vendors.
- Assist Benefits Manager in completing benefits reporting requirements including various benefit audits.
Shared Services Responsibilities
- Assists with HR projects and initiatives (i.e. total compensation statements).
- Coordinates HR communications as needed.
- Supports the monitoring of member inquiries either responding or forwarding to the appropriate party
- Other duties as assigned.
Essentials
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Possess strong interpersonal customer focus that results in great outcomes for our organization.
- Familiar with a variety of self-insured, individual-insured benefit plan offerings and legal requirements for state-specific benefit plans and requirements, including California
- Minimum of 5 years experience in managing multi-state benefits for a large, diverse company.
- Prior experience in the Technology sector, SaaS, and similar fast-moving industries preferred.
- Comfortable working in an environment with a high degree of variability; comfortable with a high degree of ambiguity and lack of existing processes and systems; comfortable with risk-taking .
- Well developed communication and analytical skills
- Excellent knowledge of MS Excel and Benefits management systems
- May be required to conduct market competitive analysis on existing plans and potential future plans, make recommendations; will report to the Global Manager of Benefits
Education And Experience
- Bachelor's degree in HR or related field (experience and/or other training/certification may be substituted for the education)
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in HR and/or benefits administration
- Prefer experience managing member benefits and benefit platforms
- Prior PEO transition experience required
- Prior start up experience is preferred
- Knowledge and previous experience in the field of crypto (3+ years preferably)Â
