Responsibilities:
- Support the Head of Transaction Monitoring in managing the global onchain and offchain transaction monitoring operations team, ensuring effective day-to-day operations while driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance team efficiency.
- Assist in overseeing and managing global operational activities across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and providing subject matter expertise to business units and local MLROs.
- Collaborate closely with the Head of Transaction Monitoring to mentor, coach, and develop team members, fostering a high-performing environment across all regions.
- Take ownership of specific cross-functional projects given by the Head of TM, to improve transaction monitoring capabilities and mitigate the company's risk exposure, in alignment with the business strategy. Closely monitor productivity levels of the team, ensuring investigations are within SLA.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders across different levels of the organization, ensuring clarity on compliance initiatives and progress toward regulatory goals.
- Help develop and present regular reports, metrics, and analyses to facilitate data-driven decision-making, addressing critical issues related to compliance, risk, and business operations.
- Identify and implement process improvements in support of the Head of TM within the transaction monitoring program, enhancing the overall effectiveness of compliance controls and monitoring practices.
- Contribute to the continuous enhancement of control validation processes to ensure they meet the required regulatory standards and compliance expectations.
- Actively support in driving compliance culture and increasing the awareness of compliance responsibilities throughout the organization and the broader transaction monitoring team.
- Build strong working relationships with key business stakeholders to ensure the timely completion of compliance activities and effective responses to regulatory reports or audits.
- Assist in the development and execution of corrective actions and issue tracking in accordance with established policies and best practices.
- Stay informed on the latest regulations and emerging risks, particularly in the virtual currency space, and contribute to updating compliance processes accordingly.
- Supervise work products produced by the team, identifying issues or risks early, and escalating them to the Head of Transaction Monitoring or relevant leadership when necessary.
- Utilize compliance applications and systems such as Chainalysis, Elliptic, case management systems, and MIS reporting tools effectively.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 8 years experience working in a compliance role with 2 years leading a global Transaction Monitoring team.
- Proven experience and knowledge in AML regulations, criminal typologies, audit/exam management, operational leadership.
- Strong technical communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate complex topics to non-expert audiences and ability to liaise with and influence stakeholders across the organisation.
