Nexus International Entertainment is an international iGaming operator behind the Spartans online gambling brand. As Spartans continues its international expansion, we are strengthening the structural foundations of the business with a particular focus on risk governance, exposure management, and long-term margin protection.

We are seeking a highly experienced Head of Risk to lead and evolve our sportsbook risk strategy during a critical growth phase.

Role Overview

The Head of Risk will assume full responsibility for exposure management, margin protection, customer risk profiling, and the development of scalable risk frameworks across all active markets.

This is a senior leadership position requiring deep technical expertise, strong commercial awareness, and the ability to implement structural solutions in a high-growth environment.

The role reports directly to executive leadership and has direct impact on company-wide profitability.

Key Responsibilities

Risk Strategy & Governance

• Develop and lead overall sportsbook risk strategy
• Establish scalable exposure management frameworks
• Implement clear risk reporting structures for senior leadership
• Ensure risk controls evolve alongside traffic growth and market expansion

Exposure & Liability Management

• Oversee real-time liability management across markets
• Optimise customer limits and profiling methodologies
• Identify and mitigate sharp action, arbitrage, and coordinated activity
• Strengthen monitoring tools and internal escalation procedures

Margin Performance Oversight

• Analyse hold performance and margin volatility
• Identify structural drivers of margin erosion beyond statistical variance
• Collaborate with trading, CRM, fraud, and payments teams to reduce leakage
• Align promotional mechanics with risk controls

Leadership

• Build and structure the risk function
• Define KPIs and accountability frameworks
• Promote a disciplined, data-driven risk culture across the organisation

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of sportsbook risk or senior trading risk experience
• Previous experience in a Tier-1 sportsbook environment strongly preferred
• Demonstrated track record of stabilising or improving sportsbook margin performance
• Deep understanding of:
• Sharp vs recreational betting behaviour
• Arbitrage detection and syndicate mitigation
• Customer segmentation and limit management strategy
• Risk analytics and performance modelling
• Strong analytical capability and commercial judgment
• Experience operating in fast-growth or international markets advantageous
