The role
You'll build and own the on-chain execution layer of the protocol: a custom matcher program, the settlement integration, the risk controls, and the supporting off-chain services — from local prototype through to a devnet rehearsal and an audit-ready mainnet launch. You'll work directly with the founder and CTO from a detailed spec with a phased roadmap.
What you'll build
- A custom matcher program (Solana) that prices and sizes each fill within strict, on-chain-enforced bounds — quote validation, execution-deviation limits, position and inventory caps, partial fills, expiry, and replay protection.
- An off-chain router/batcher that nets user flow and assembles settlement transactions.
- A backend accounting layer that reconciles on-chain state into a clean per-actor ledger.
- Deterministic test coverage and the path to an audit-ready mainnet deployment.
We build on top of a third-party Rust perpetual-futures risk engine (a Solana program with a matcher cross-program-invocation seam) that handles settlement, margin, liquidation, and risk state — you build the product layer around it, without modifying the engine itself. Our guiding principle: anything that protects capital is enforced in the transaction path, never just off-chain.
What we're looking for
- Strong Solana program development experience (native or Anchor), CPI, and a solid grasp of the SVM account model.
- Comfort reading unfamiliar Rust at the source level and reasoning about correctness and invariants.
- Familiarity with perpetual/derivatives mechanics — margin, funding, liquidation, oracle marks — or the ability to ramp up fast.
- A bias toward verification and testing over shipping speed.
Nice to have
- Prior work on a DEX, perpetuals protocol, or on-chain matching/settlement system.
- Experience integrating with unaudited or early-stage codebases.
- Audit-preparation or security-review experience.
Why this role
The hard problems here are real: getting risk controls provably enforced on-chain, not hand-waved. You'd have full ownership of a core system, a concrete spec to build from, and a direct line to the founders — on a product with a clear thesis and a real market.
