WordPress/PHP/WooCommerce web software developer

Orgmento is currently seeking a highly skilled WordPress/PHP/WooCommerce Web Software Developer to join our dedicated team in Accra, Ghana. This is an excellent opportunity for a talented developer who is passionate about building and maintaining scalable web applications and e-commerce platforms.

In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining WordPress websites and WooCommerce stores, ensuring exceptional user experiences and performance. Your expertise in PHP will be essential in customizing themes, developing plugins, and integrating APIs to meet specific client needs.

As a WordPress/PHP/WooCommerce Web Software Developer, you will collaborate closely with our design and marketing teams to deliver high-quality solutions that align with client objectives. You will be focusing on best practices in code quality, performance optimization, and user-centric design principles.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain WordPress websites and WooCommerce e-commerce solutions
• Customize existing themes and develop custom plugins to enhance website functionality
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements and deliverables
• Implement API integrations and third-party services as needed
• Conduct performance optimization and security enhancements to ensure website reliability
• Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies in web development
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for existing websites and applications

This position is full-time, with an initial 6-month probationary period. Candidates must be based in, or willing to relocate to, Accra, Ghana.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field
• Proven experience in WordPress development and WooCommerce integration
• Strong proficiency in PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Ability to create custom themes and plugins, adhering to WordPress coding standards
• Ability to write highly modular, object-oriented code along with unit tests
• Experience with responsive design principles and cross-browser compatibility
• Understanding of website optimization techniques for speed and performance
• Familiarity with version control systems, such as Git/GitHub
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
