Accounting Manager

As an Accounting Manager at OpenSea, you will be vital in managing our accounting operations and enhancing our financial strategies, particularly within the evolving Web3 landscape. This position demands a thorough understanding of both traditional accounting practices and the dynamics of the crypto markets. Utilizing your proficiency in accounting software such as NetSuite, you will oversee complex financial datasets, manage accounting cycles, and drive strategic growth initiatives, significantly contributing to our financial accuracy and processes.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily transactions, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, bank reconciliations, and crypto asset transactions.

• Lead month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring compliance and accuracy in a fast-paced, start-up environment.

• Develop and maintain internal controls and procedures to adapt to evolving accounting regulations.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize financial practices and support business scaling within a hyper-growth industry.

• Analyze financial data, prepare comprehensive reports, and provide insights and forecasts on company expenses.

• Act as the principal financial contact for auditors, addressing inquiries and managing document requests.

Desired Experience:

• 5-7 years of experience in accounting or related fields, with a strong preference for experience in the Web3 industry or other start-up companies.

• Proficiency in NetSuite and other financial software, with the ability to adapt to new technological integrations.

• Exceptional analytical skills and experience with large datasets in the crypto market.

• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to manage cross-functional relationships effectively in a tech-driven environment.

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, maintaining high standards of compliance and accuracy.

• CPA certification or equivalent preferred, with additional certification in blockchain or cryptocurrency management seen as a plus.

The base salary for this full-time position, which spans across multiple internal levels depending on qualifications, ranges between $100,000-$160,000 plus benefits & equity.
