Responsibilities
- Support the compliance officer (CO) of Binance Japan and conduct the regulatory compliance activities ranging from day-to-day reporting to regulatory communication
- Be a project manager for inquiries from local/global regulators and LEs. Assign other team members to each inquiry and draft responses for Legal/Compliance issues
- Produce periodic reports on compliance activities to the CO and board of directorsÂ
- Handle internal escalations regarding KYC/KYB, the sanction screening processes, and marketing campaign materials
- Update internal policies and rules in response to changes in applicable laws and regulations
- Support documentation for new license applications
- Handle legal cases with the support of internal/external counsels
- Identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk; develop corrective action plans for resolution
Requirements
- 8-12 years experience in Compliance and/or Legal from a financial institution (experience in the fintech or blockchain industry will be an advantage)
- Experience with all areas of Compliance (KYC/B, EDD, SAR/STR, etc)
- Ability to keep up-to-date on all applicable Japanese laws and regulations, as well as international rules that may affect our operations
- Knowledge of Japanese law and regulatory standards
- Experience with tools related to Compliance (Name screening, Transaction monitoring, etc)
- Ability to work as part of a team as well as execute independently on all compliance and legal matters
- Fluency in Japanese and English, both written and spoken
