Backend Developer

One of the mission critical components of Mars Protocol is the keeper bot services that run automation tasks such as liquidations, delayed order executions, and oracle price updates.

Mars Protocol Foundation is looking for an experienced backend developer who can come in and take ownership of our keeper bots and take them to the next level.

This role would suit someone with 3+ years of backend development experience with Javascript/Typescript and Rust, and someone who can work independently yet maintain a strong sense of accountability in a fast-growth startup-like environment.

Location: Remotely from anywhere in the world (excluding United States)

Responsibilities

• Enhance and maintain a liquidation bot system to handle larger amounts of user load as the protocol grows
• Build and maintain new bots that will enable delayed order execution, mitigating oracle frontrunning in Mars Protocol’s oracle perps implementation, and enabling advanced order types such as limit orders in both margin trading and perps implementations.
• Build and maintain services for indexing and storing blockchain data, primarily an API that exposes account health information to enable community liquidations to take place.

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years prior professional experience in backend development roles
• Highly proficient with Typescript, Javascript, Rust
• Good understanding of key design principles
• Good understanding of DeFi / crypto-financial primitives and the web3 landscape

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building/tinkering with CosmWasm smart contracts
• Experience building APIs for cryptocurrency projects
• Understanding of cloud-native technologies
• Experience in infra as code tooling such as Terraform
