Hyperion is an innovative machine learning system designed to classify blockchain entities and assign risk scores to those potentially involved in illicit activities. Operating as a software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform, Hyperion delivers real-time insights into the blockchain ecosystem, empowering organizations to navigate the complexities of Anti-Money Laundering (AML) compliance, risk management, and financial investigations. Currently under development, Hyperion aims to address the pressing needs of a rapidly evolving market by providing a scalable, user-friendly solution that enhances transparency and security in blockchain transactions.
Position Overview
As a Senior Back End Engineer at Hyperion, you will lead the development of critical data infrastructure, encompassing real-time blockchain data consumers, robust ETL pipelines, and high-availability feature stores. A key aspect of this role involves integrating these pipelines with both machine learning training and live inference engines.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and maintain real-time blockchain data consumers for various networks.
- Architect and implement a scalable features encoder engine for cross-network compatibility, integrating with diverse database systems and backends.
- Develop and integrate data pipelines with various APIs and data access points, including JSON/RPC APIs and WebSocket streams.
- Build and optimize ETL pipelines for efficient data ingestion into relational and analytics databases.
- Design and deploy low-latency RESTful APIs to serve models for real-time scoring.
- Perform data analysis using query languages (e.g. SQL) across various data stores to identify patterns and trends.
Requirements
- Proven proficiency in Python for data engineering, API development, and database clients.
- Experience with modern web frameworks such as Falcon, FastAPI, or similar WSGI/ASGI frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with ETL orchestration tools, such as Apache Airflow, Prefect, or similar workflow management systems.
- Solid understanding of relational (PostgreSQL), NoSQL (Cassandra), and analytical (Clickhouse) database management systems.
- Familiarity with Large Language Models (LLMs), their APIs, and SDKs (e.g. OpenAI, Hugging Face).
- Demonstrated ability in problem-solving and working with diverse data formats (e.g. JSON, CSV, Parquet, etc).
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet deadlines in a remote setting.
- A strong passion for blockchain and Web3 technologies and an interest in combating financial cybercrime.
Nice to Have
- Significant experience building and maintaining low-latency, high-throughput systems.
- Experience with scaling database systems
- Prior experience with blockchain analytics platforms and tools.
- Currently residing in United Arab Emirates, preferably in Dubai.
