Senior Infrastructure Engineer

The Block's team is spread across 7 time zones, covering the global cryptocurrency space 24/7.The Block delivers deep insight into how the emerging digital assets sector interacts with traditional finance, technology, governments, and markets. We reach hundreds of thousands of technologists, financial market participants, Fortune 500 professionals, global service providers, policymakers, and more through our main website, dedicated Research Portal, podcast, and events.As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer, you will help ensure that all systems are secured and sensitive data is kept confidential. You will make sure we have the right software and hardware in place and our infrastructure, devices, and accounts are following all security best practices.An effective Senior Infrastructure Engineer should plan enterprise architecture as well as proactively document, report, and mitigate system misconfigurations and security vulnerabilities in all our environments as well as employee devices and user accounts. The ideal candidate must be able to prioritize tasks and complete them in a timely manner.

You Will:

• Administer: Deploy and configure new enterprise infrastructure, maintain and support existing enterprise applications, and manage our Azure and AWS cloud environments using industry best practices
• Maintain: Monitor infrastructure for misconfigurations and vulnerabilities and coordinate with DevOps to deploy patches in a timely manner
• Communicate: Collaborate across teams to improve company workflows and operations and balance between team and customer-facing communication
• Own: Develop infrastructure best practices and standards for The Block, prefer root cause resolution over temporary workarounds, and autonomously drive projects to completion
• Document: Create and maintain technical and process documentation and contribute knowledge on a regular basis in the form of tutorials and trainings
• Contribute: Participate in a culture of quality and healthy collaboration and engage in company-wide initiatives

Must Haves:

• At least 4 years of experience in infrastructure and security
• Understanding of Identity and Access Management
• Proficiency managing Microsoft Azure, Office 365, and AWS
• Experience with integrations via ADFS, SAML, OAuth, and/or OpenID Connect
• Ability to participate in on-call rotation
• Critical thinking skills and the ability to solve problems as they arise
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment

Nice to Have:

• Industry standard certification in infrastructure and/or security
• Desire to work in the digital asset industry
• Familiarity with managing Atlassian suite
• Experience with managing CDN/WAF and rate-limiting
• Experience scripting system maintenance
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code such as Terraform or Ansible
• Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform
• Knowledge of email service provider security
• Empathy for users and employees seeking technical assistance
