Senior Protocol Engineer (EVM)

The Role

We’re looking for a founding Senior Protocol Engineer (EVM) to lead smart contract development for the K4 Credit Fund. The MVP will be a vault deployed on Arbitrum, and your work will lay the foundation for scaling into a fully permissionless protocol. You’ll own the design and implementation of core contracts, collaborate closely with backend/frontend engineers, and ensure security, efficiency, and composability at every layer.

What You’ll Do

• Design and implement smart contracts for the MVP vault on Arbitrum
• Develop core protocol logic for lending, collateral management, and liquidation with K4’s risk management team
• Collaborate with backend engineers to integrate off-chain trading and risk data
• Work with frontend engineers to deliver seamless on-chain/off-chain user experiences
• Prioritize security, gas efficiency, and composability in contract design
• Support audits and testing to ensure production-readiness
• Contribute to the long-term architecture of the credit protocol

What We’re Looking For

• Strong experience writing smart contracts in Solidity (Rust experience is a plus)
• Deep understanding of the EVM and L2s like Arbitrum
• Experience designing, testing, and deploying production smart contracts
• Familiarity with DeFi primitives (vaults, oracles, liquidation mechanisms)
• Comfort working across the stack with backend/frontend teams
• Passion for crypto, DeFi, and building permissionless systems

Bonus Points

• Prior experience deploying protocols on Arbitrum or other L2s
• Contributions to open-source DeFi projects
• Experience working with formal verification or advanced testing frameworks
• Knowledge of credit, lending, or trading protocols

Our long-term goal is to evolve from serving SuperStack traders into a permissionless on-chain credit protocol that serves everyone, including traditional financial institutions.
