Trading Operations Associate

Who You Are:

You are an experienced trading and investment operations support professional with a passion for cryptocurrency and digital assets. You have at least 3 years of experience in middle/back office trading support at a financial institution, hedge fund or administrator, and want to leverage this experience to provide support to Galaxy’s trading and investment operations.

What You’ll Do:

• Provide full support to Galaxy Asset Management’s trading and investment operations
• Work in a fast-paced trading environment with daily interaction across multiple business units (Trading, Operations, Finance, Risk, Client Service, Product Development, Engineering)
• Manage all aspects of the trade lifecycle, including trade capture, settlement, and reporting across various asset classes
• Perform daily trade, position, and cash reconciliations and break resolution
• Implement operational procedures and systems for newly launching strategies, ensuring processes are fully documented, tested and adequately supported
• Identify operational control gaps in existing processes and suggest process improvements
• Lead service provider onboardings including trading counterparties, custodians, and banks
• Assist with due diligence questionnaires related to operational matters

What We’re Looking For:

• At least 3 to 5 years middle office experience
• Expertise in the trade life cycle of various financial products
• Experience covering trade settlements, fail control, reconciliation of trade discrepancies, and client servicing
• Knowledge of accounting and reconciliation systems
• Self-starter with an ability to lead projects from start to finish, and a strong desire to make processes more efficient
• An outgoing individual with a strong work ethic and a great attention to detail
• Ability to work in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment and multitask
• Able to work effectively in a team environment with good communication skills
• General knowledge of digital assets and blockchain technology

Bonus Points:

• Experience working directly with derivative products including futures and options
• Quantitative background; experience with risk management
• Experience with programming (ex. VBA, Python) and/or scripting
