Responsibilities:
- Advising on a variety of legal issues in connection with Binance’s payments, fiat and e-money products and services globally including licensing, marketing, drafting of product terms and conditionsÂ
- Advising on regulatory challenges across the European region, including partnerships with licensed fiat and payments services providers, licensing and a range of other matters pivotal to the company's growth across the region and globally
- Drafting and reviewing strategic plans and submissions to relevant regulatory authorities, responding to regulatory enquiries, and help shaping the long-term fiat and payments regulatory strategy
- Conducting regulatory analysis of payment, fiat and / or e-money products and services, analysing and understanding fund flows and operations, including conducting multi-jurisdictional analysis, particularly across the European Union
- Developing and managing the European legal and compliance programme and ongoing regulatory strategy in connection payments, fiat or e-money products and services
- Anticipating and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of current laws relevant to your own substantive area to provide strategic advice and foster compliance
Requirements:
- Qualified as a lawyer in one or more of the EU jurisdictionsÂ
- 5-10 years post qualification experience gained in top tier law firms and/or payment service/EMI companies and/or financial institutionsÂ
- Knowledge of relevant regulations such as PSD2 (2015/2366/EC), E-Money Directive (2009/110/EC), and local payment regulations across Europe, Regulation (EU) 2023/1114 on Markets in Crypto-Assets and Directive 2014/65/E on markets in financial instrumentsÂ
- Experience providing regulatory advice to financial institutions and other businesses including banks and payments platforms in connection with payments, fiat or e-money products and services in the EU
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Excellent analytical, written and oral communication, and client communication skills
- Ability to demonstrate sound legal and business judgement even in ambiguous situations
- Ability to work independently and also contribute successfully to cross-functional teams
- Excellent organisational skills, ability to manage multiple projects at once, and meet deadlinesCommercial attitude, common sense and great judgement
