Who You Are:

We are looking for a Senior Java Developer with strong experience in building scalable, high-performance systems in the financial or trading domain. The ideal candidate will be passionate about modern software engineering practices and deeply familiar with event-driven architectures, microservices, and real-time data processing.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams including traders, Operations, architects, and DevOps to build, enhance, and maintain trading back-office applications and services that drive our business.

What You'll Do:

• Design, develop, and maintain robust Java-based backend systems using Spring Boot and related technologies.
• Build and optimize microservices and APIs to support high-throughput, low-latency trading operations.
• Work on Kafka-based message processing systems for real-time data pipelines.
• Develop asynchronous and reactive services for scalability and performance.
• Collaborate with product managers and QA to deliver high-quality solutions aligned with business needs.
• Participate in architectural discussions and technical decision-making.
• Write clean, testable, and maintainable code following best practices.
• Debug, profile, and optimize production systems for reliability and performance.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices to ensure smooth deployments.

What We're Looking For:

• 7–10 years of professional software development experience with a strong focus on Java/J2EE.
• Deep expertise in Spring Boot, REST APIs, and enterprise Java patterns.
• Solid knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL, etc.) including SQL query optimization.
• Strong experience with message brokers, especially Kafka, for high-throughput, distributed systems.
• Proficiency in asynchronous programming and concurrent processing.
• In-depth knowledge of microservices architecture and cloud-native application development.
• Proven experience working in trading systems, financial platforms, or capital markets.
• Experience with version control systems (Git), build tools (Maven/Gradle), and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) is a plus.
• Good understanding of software design principles, performance tuning, and system scalability.
• Crypto experience is a plus.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with event-driven architectures, stream processing frameworks (e.g., Kafka Streams, Flink), or in-memory data grids.
• Exposure to DevOps practices, observability (Grafana, Prometheus, ELK), and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.

The base salary ranges included below will be commensurate with candidate experience, expertise and local market. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including candidate experience and expertise. At Galaxy, we maintain a total compensation philosophy which consists of a competitive base salary, annual bonus, and equity incentives.

Base Salary Range$175,000—$190,000 USD
