Microsoft Systems Engineer / SME & Systems Integrator

Who You Are:We're looking for a Microsoft Expert / SME (Architect, Engineer, and Operator) to design, build, and run our overall Microsoft Service offering, O365 & Azure, with the ability to lead related enterprise systems integration with a security first approach, accounting for full systems lifecycle (SDLC), including operationalization, and support. A senior technologist with the expertise in enterprise applications, SaaS, infrastructure, and security that can work collaboratively with peers in IT, security, software product engineering, infrastructure engineering, and business teams to implement secure solutions at a rapidly growing company.

What You’ll Do:

  • Operate and support Galaxy’s existing Microsoft Service offering, which includes O365 and on-premises services / infrastructure, third party email security controls and gateway services, hybrid active directory, and workstation management services.
  • Provide guidance and support to the workstation engineering team on / through the full system lifecycle, (build / imaging, OS and application patching, system security, and vulnerability remediation).
  • Re-architect the existing Microsoft service offering to increase productivity, consolidate services, streamline licensing, and enhance security, systems resiliency, and reliability.
  • Architect, engineer, and deploy a Windows workstation management infrastructure that will allow IT operations to manage the full workstation lifecycle.
  • Architect, engineer, and operate a fully qualified Azure infrastructure service offering capable of hosting the organizations custom built finance applications.
  • Over time build a team to operate the services delivered.
  • Champion security through a security first approach in all phases of the system lifecycle.
  • Lead the selection, integration, and operationalization of new non-Microsoft enterprise services.
  • Assist peer teams with requirements gathering, system design and or selection, integration, and operationalization.
  • Participate in and where applicable lead incident investigations and remediation activities.
  • Where possible automate operations.
  • Mentor junior team members.
  • Train operations and support personnel.

What We’re Looking For:

  • 6+ years of diverse experience in information technology and system integration
  • Hybrid Active Directory (On prem Domain integrated with Azure AD):
    • Domain Controller Lifecycle
    • Active Directory Architecture and Operations
    • Expert understanding of GPOs, OUs, Account Management, Polices, identity and access management, access provisioning, etc.
  • Windows Server Architecture, Engineering, and Operations (Full Lifecycle) – Domain Controllers, Certificate Servers, Print Servers, NPS Servers, File Servers, etc.
  • O365
    • Expert with Exchange, email routing, Outlook (PC, Mac, iPhone, Web), mail gateways, and third-party email security gateways like Mimecast, and general email security
    • SharePoint
    • OneDrive
    • Microsoft Graph
    • inTune
  • Powershell experience 
  • Microsoft Server and Workstation patch and vulnerability management
  • Azure Cloud Architecture, engineering, and operations
  • Windows Workstation Engineering and Lifecycle
  • Infrastructure design, engineering, operations, and support (physical and Azure cloud).
  • Microsoft Security Services, integration, operations, and support
  • User, Systems, and Data Security

Bonus Points:

  • Self-starter with strong business acumen that can cut through problems and deliver results.  Knows when to escalate to management for assistance.
  • The ability to work across the enterprise technology stack and facilitate cross stack service integration and incident resolution with a security minded approach.
  • The ability to apply existing knowledge and experience to new areas of exposure, and technologies they have no direct experience with, and achieve a successful outcome.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with systems and infrastructure engineering teams, quality assurance, security teams, and business teams.
  • The ability to take an initiative and run with it from idea to through system go live and operational turn over, without direct oversite.  Has the experience to address all the soft items involved to take a system from idea to go-live.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills with the ability to instill confidence and translate complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
