Who You Are:

The Vice President, Tax Information Reporting and Withholding, will manage all U.S. and non-U.S. tax information reporting and withholding matters across all of Galaxy’s business lines. This person will collaborate with Legal, Finance, Operations, and relevant business units, as well as external advisors, and report to the Head of Tax.

What You’ll Do:

  • Manage U.S. and non-U.S. tax information reporting and withholding matters including, but not limited to, Forms 8804/8805, Forms 1099/1042-S, FATCA, CRS, CbCR, FBAR, Cayman Economic Substance, tax form validation for clients and investors.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures and work with relevant stakeholders to develop technology to ensure compliance with U.S. and non-U.S. tax information reporting and withholding rules.
  • Advise on tax rules and respond to inquiries from internal stakeholders on matters related to information reporting and withholding.
  • Review, analyze, and interpret current and new reporting and withholding tax guidance (e.g., law, regulations, and rulings) and advise internal stakeholders on impact to current and new products.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Law
  • At least 7 years of substantial experience in tax information reporting and withholding, ideally within a global bank/financial institution or a combination
  • Technical knowledge of tax laws and regulations related to tax information reporting and withholding, with a focus on financial products and services
  • Cost basis reporting and expertise in Form 1099-B reporting, as well as experience with building out internal systems and technology for proper reporting
  • Ability to work independently, but within a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Excellent communication and critical thinking skills

Bonus Points:

  • Experience with digital asset reporting
  • Familiarity with new digital asset broker reporting regulations
  • Experience with automating tax processes
  • Experience working with “Up-C” structures and partnerships
