Token Metrics is seeking a General Counsel to join our team and provide expert legal guidance in the rapidly evolving cryptocurrency and blockchain space. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cryptocurrency and securities law and a passion for the digital asset industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive legal advice on cryptocurrency-related matters, including regulatory compliance, token offerings, and digital asset classifications
- Develop and implement legal strategies to navigate the complex regulatory landscape surrounding cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology
- Draft and review legal documents, including terms of service, privacy policies, and partnership agreements
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure legal compliance in product development and business operations
- Monitor and analyze regulatory developments in the cryptocurrency and securities space, providing timely updates and recommendations to leadership
- Manage relationships with external counsel and regulatory bodies
- Advise on intellectual property matters related to Token Metrics' products and services
- Assist in fundraising efforts and corporate governance matters
- Represent Token Metrics in court proceedings and legal disputes as needed
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school and admission to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
- Strong knowledge of securities laws and regulations, particularly as they apply to digital assets
- Demonstrated experience advising on token offerings, cryptocurrency exchanges, and decentralized finance (DeFi) projects
- Familiarity with international cryptocurrency regulations and compliance requirements
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide practical, business-oriented legal advice
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders
- Experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
- Proven track record of successful litigation and courtroom representation
Requirements
- Must own and actively engage with cryptocurrencies to demonstrate a deep understanding of the technology and ecosystem
- Proven track record of staying up-to-date with the latest developments in cryptocurrency law and regulation
- Ability to work collaboratively in a remote environment
Preferred
- Experience working with or for a cryptocurrency or blockchain company
- Knowledge of cryptocurrency market analysis and trading platforms
- Familiarity with decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs) and related legal structures
