💻 About the role:

As the Head of Engineering, Infrastructure at Safe, you will have the opportunity to lead and scale our DevOps, IT, and Security functions, owning all infrastructure-related responsibilities while building high-impact teams that enable and accelerate the entire organization.

You’ll be joining a growing team that currently includes 70+ people overall. This role is based in Berlin 🇩🇪. Most of our team is based in Berlin, Germany, but we also have awesome teammates in Switzerland 🇨🇭, Spain 🇪🇸, Portugal 🇵🇹 and other countries.

🗃️ What you will be doing:

• Lead and manage the DevOps, Security, and IT Sysadmin teams.

  • Drive professional growth within the team through strong people management.

  • Provide context to the team to enable effective decision-making.

  • Ensure clear processes for internal team coordination (i.e. Scrum or Kanban).

  • Facilitate team meetings such as planning sessions and retrospectives.

  • Ensure efficient and transparent coordination with other teams.

• Lead infrastructure-related incident response, ensuring swift resolution and continuous improvement.

• Support the evaluation and implementation of certification and security standards.

• Proactively support execution to remove blockers and drive progress on high-impact initiatives.

🎒 What you will bring:

• Solid experience in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), with a strong focus on Implementing best practices around CI/CD Pipelines, AWS Cloud Infrastructure and Kubernetes.

• Proficiency in DevOps tools and methodologies, including monitoring, incident management, and automation.

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.

• Experience in managing teams (~5 people), including conducting performance reviews, and creating growth plans.

• Experience with development processes such as Kanban and Scrum, or other agile frameworks.

• Experience with goal-setting processes such as OKRs.

➕ Nice to have:

• Familiarity with incident response specific to Web3/ Blockchain and Decentralized Applications.

• Solid Familiarity with Web3 Ecosystems, Protocols and Tools.

• Have worked on certification processes before (preferably SOC2 or ISO 27001).

• Experience in IT administration within larger organizational setups.
