Network Engineer

Who You Are: 

Galaxy is looking for a Network Engineer with experience in cloud/datacenter networking.  This role is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the network including support, deployment and design.  Additionally, the role will require interaction with many of the internal business units and supporting new functionality or support. 

What You’ll Do: 

  • Responsible for working and collaborating with network engineering team on new and existing networking projects, reporting to IT management 
  • Work with infrastructure and trading support teams on various connectivity projects and troubleshooting
  • Responsible for maintenance, configuration, and troubleshooting of routers, switches, firewalls, and WAN circuits both on prem and cloud
  • Handle network performance and scalability testing; create support documentation and reports
  • Maintain and develop network monitoring tools, improve performance stability and redundancy of existing network
  • Work with carrier on circuit outages and new installs as well as with data center remote hands at various co-locations
  • On-call and weekend work; must be willing to work first, second, and occasional 3rd shifts 

What We’re Looking For: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering or related field 
  • Experience with Arista/Cisco/Juniper, routing/switching 
  • In depth knowledge iBGP and eBGP designs 
  • SD-WAN/Carrier technologies including background in optical/DWDM, dark fiber solutions, 10Gb ethernet, firewall security and VPN 
  • 5+ years’ experience of design, implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of low-latency trading networks 
  • Experience integrating and maintaining cloud platform networks (AWS, GPC, Azure, etc.), and managing network configurations as code
