Kraken is committed to industry-leading security through our products like Kraken Pro, Kraken NFT, and Cryptowatch, with a focus on world-class customer support and crypto education for all. Become a Krakenite and build the internet of money!Proof of WorkThe TeamTax Technology at Kraken is charged with finding innovative and efficient solutions for the tax team, including for tax operations, transfer pricing, planning and forecasting, and information reporting. We find creative solutions for complex problems unique to the crypto industry. The Tax Analyst, Tax Technology will work closely with the Tax Technology Manager on all aspects of internal tax technology responsibilities. This includes, but is not limited to, implementing tax technology solutions throughout the tax department (both internally developed tools and out-of-the-box software), assessing the benefits of potential vendor solutions, and collaborating with product and data teams. This role will provide exposure to Tax partners within the broader Finance department, providing a strong, driven candidate with the opportunity to grow their skills in multiple directions.Â
The Opportunity
- Implement tax technology to streamline processes, automate manual activities, and reduce risk exposure in order to increase accuracy and efficiency within the tax department
- Collaborate with Tax Operations and Tax Planning teams to understand their needs and translate into technical requirements
- Maintain existing tax technology tools and assess how changes in the tax department may require updates
- Identify areas for tax technology improvement and automation to help improve Tax Department efficiencies
- Flexible approach to meet the changing needs of the Tax team
- Experience with financial services industry preferred but not required
Skills you should HODL
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Tax or related field
- 2+ years of experience, ideally in a Big 4 tax function
- Strong technical proficiency with web applications and the Microsoft Power Platform, ability to learn new systems/applications quickly
- Experience with python, SQL, and VBA
- Strong written, verbal, and analytical skills
- Ability to multitask as well as meet short deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Nice to haves
- Prior experience with ASC 740
