The Opportunity
PlayToEarn (playtoearn.com) is the leading crypto-gaming media and discovery platform, expanding into game development, collectible toys, and live events. We are looking for someone to take full ownership of TEDL, our collectible character brand, and build it into a major product line.
TEDL (the TEDLBEAR) is a teddy bear character brand whose name merges 'TEDDY' and 'HODL', rooted in crypto culture but designed to appeal far beyond it. The target audience is both kids and kidults, the growing adult collector market that drives brands like Sanrio, PopMart, and Labubu. The product roadmap spans limited edition plushies, blind box vinyl figures, and a wider product ecosystem.
Certain products will include unique claim codes that unlock digital collectibles within the PlayToEarn ecosystem, bridging the physical and digital worlds. The long-term vision includes a dedicated virtual world built around TEDL and its universe, where these claimed digital collectibles carry over as in-game items.
The brand IP exists. The character design exists. A product concept and roadmap for the first edition (Genesis Edition) is in place and ready for the right person to review, refine based on their expertise, and take into production. The marketing platform exists too: PlayToEarn.com already has an established crypto gaming audience familiar with the TEDL character through its use across the website and content for multiple years.
What is missing is someone who can take this from concept to revenue and scale it.
This is not a typical job. The real compensation lives in profit share and equity that grow with TEDL's success. This role is designed for someone who thinks like a builder, not an employee. If you need a high base salary, this is not the role. If you would rather own a piece of what you build, it might be.
What You Will Do
You will own the TEDL product line end to end. You will receive the existing product vision from the Founder, and your first task will be to evaluate it: what should be kept, what should be changed, and what should be added to make the brand scale as large and fast as possible while remaining cost-effective.
We will fund the initial production run, after which growth should be driven by reinvesting sales revenue and leveraging presales for upcoming drops to maintain momentum across a continuous product pipeline. For the first product lines, you will work alongside the Founder to establish the direction together. As the brand grows and you develop a deep understanding of the product and ecosystem, you will progressively take full ownership, scale it independently, build a team around it as needed, and work in cooperation with other team members across the company where their expertise supports TEDL's growth.
Product Development & Manufacturing
- Source and manage factory relationships for plushies, vinyl figures, and future product lines.
- Oversee prototyping, quality control, and production runs.
- Manage the production calendar across multiple product drops and series.
- Develop a product roadmap that balances limited edition collector releases with broader accessible lines.
Sales & Distribution
- Launch and manage the TEDL online store (with CTO support for technical implementation).
- Build and manage sales channels beyond our own platform: retail partnerships, marketplace listings, collector communities, and convention and event sales.
- Develop a presale and drop strategy that builds momentum and funds future production runs.
- Scale from our initial crypto gaming audience into the global mainstream collector market.
Marketing & Community
- Work with the in-house marketing team to plan product launches, drops, and campaigns.
- Build collector community engagement and brand loyalty.
- Identify and develop influencer and content creator partnerships relevant to the collector and toy space.
- Leverage our existing audience as a launchpad while building TEDL's own audience beyond crypto.
Brand & Ecosystem
- Ensure physical products connect to the broader PlayToEarn digital ecosystem through claim codes and digital collectibles.
- Collaborate with the Founder and C-level team on digital integration points such as platform badges, avatars, game skins, and future virtual world items.
- Explore brand collaboration and crossover opportunities with other established character and lifestyle brands.
What You Bring
Must Have
- Hands-on ecommerce and physical product sales experience. You have sold real products to real customers and scaled revenue across multiple channels.
- Manufacturing and fulfillment knowledge. You know how to work with factories, manage production timelines, handle quality control, and ship products to customers.
- Operational crisis handling, in practice not in theory. Manufacturing and product launches rarely go perfectly. Factory delays, quality issues, customs problems, supplier disputes, marketing missteps. You have handled these on real products you shipped, not in case studies. You should be able to walk us through a real production crisis or launch that did not go to plan, what you did about it, and how it ended.
- Multi-drop and multi-launch management. Not just one product, but a pipeline of releases with planning, production, and sales cycles running in parallel.
- Understanding of the collectible toy market. Awareness of Sanrio, PopMart, BearBrick, Labubu, blind box culture, limited edition dynamics, and collector psychology across both kids and kidult audiences.
- Understanding of crypto, NFTs, and crypto gaming. You do not need to be a crypto expert, but a solid understanding of the fundamentals is required, with ideally deeper knowledge of how digital collectibles and physical products can reinforce each other. The core focus of this role is building and scaling a collectible toy IP, and the crypto layer is an addition on top that the team can support you with. That said, understanding how brands like Pudgy Penguins successfully went from digital NFTs to mainstream physical retail products, and why many digital-only NFT projects before them failed, is essential context for this role.
- Full-time availability and ownership-level commitment. This is a builder role. Full-time hours are expected as a baseline, with more when launches, factory deadlines, or critical production windows demand it. The compensation structure (profit share and equity) rewards people who treat this like their own business, not a nine-to-five.
- Ability to work autonomously on limited resources. This is a startup environment. You will not have a big team or budget initially. You need to be resourceful and hands-on.
- Self-discipline and ownership of your time. This is a fully remote role with no fixed working hours. You manage your own schedule, priorities, and output. More effort directly translates to more results and more income through profit share. Being available and responsive when the team needs you is expected. This setup rewards people who hold themselves to a higher standard than any employer would.
- Proficiency with AI tools. We operate with AI-assisted workflows across all departments. You are expected to actively use AI tools to multiply your output across content, research, communication, and operational tasks.
Nice to Have
- Existing relationships with manufacturers, distributors, or retail buyers in the toy or collectible space.
- Experience with presale, crowdfunding, or pre-order strategies that fund production.
- Experience building or growing a brand from early stage to meaningful revenue.
- Active participation in collector or crypto communities.
Compensation
This role is designed to grow with the product line. As TEDL scales, so does the scope, autonomy, and reward of this position.
What That Looks Like in Practice
- Starting base salary of USD 1,000 per month. Covers your commitment while TEDL revenue builds.
- Profit share. A percentage of net TEDL profit (revenue minus cost of goods, direct marketing, and base salary). This is your primary compensation upside. Exact percentage discussed during interview.
- Equity. Shares in PlayToEarn Pte. Ltd. with a vesting schedule. Additional bonus equity unlocks in stages as TEDL reaches cumulative revenue milestones. Details discussed during interview.
Earning Potential
This position is for someone who sees themselves as a founder and creator of something, not an employee filling a role. To put the financial potential in perspective: crypto-native brands that have crossed into mainstream retail collectibles have generated tens of millions in annual revenue, with Pudgy Penguins exceeding USD 50 million, and many of them started with less infrastructure than what PlayToEarn already provides for TEDL. Even at a fraction of that scale, the combined value of profit share and equity participation puts total annual compensation well into the high six figures and potentially seven figures.
