You’ll be joining a growing team that currently includes 50+ people overall. This role is based in {Berlin} (🇩🇪).Most of our team is based in Berlin, Germany, but we also have awesome teammates in Switzerland 🇨🇭, Spain 🇪🇸, Portugal 🇵🇹, UK 🇬🇧, and other countries.

💻 About the role:

As a Network Support Lead, you will be responsible for expanding our support for new Ethereum based networks and push forward the research on how to decentralize our indexing infrastructure. You will act as subject matter expert for this between multiple internal and external teams You will report directly into the CTO Co-Founder. Safe is key to the Ethereum ecosystem. Most if not all projects are using it in one way or the other. You will work on a project central to Ethereum. You will be hands on with the tech stack powering some of the accounts managing some of the highest valued assets in the Ethereum ecosystem.

Tech stack that we use:

  • Backend services (written in TypeScript/Node.js and Python, hosted at AWS, orchestrated via Kubernetes)

  • Smart contracts (written in Solidity)

  • Ethereum Nodes (Nethermind and Erigon for tracing, external providers for Event indexing)

🗃️ What you will be doing:

Strategic Feedback:

  • Provide insightful feedback on the overall strategy, roadmap, and various product-related topics.

  • Inject your own ideas into discussions where applicable.

  • Take ownership of the "how" by driving the implementation of feedback on the "what."

Team Coordination:

  • Act as a central point of coordination between different teams, including Wallet, Services, DevOps, Protocol, and Partnerships.

Research Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with research teams to provide optimal support for Smart Accounts across multiple networks.

  • Engage with technical external partners as needed.

Visibility Enhancement:

  • Work to increase the external visibility of the Safe Core tech team.

Process Establishment:

  • Establish and optimize processes, including boards, issues, requirements, planning, tools, and estimations.

  • Ensure accountability within the team and foster accountability towards external stakeholders.

Documentation:

  • Oversee the creation of proper documentation with a pragmatic approach—just enough to meet the needs of the team and stakeholders.

Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure the quality, scalability, and security of the products developed by the team

Team Building and Management:

  • Build and lead a team for network support.

  • Perform people management duties, fostering a positive and productive work environment.

🎒 What you will bring: 

  • Deep understanding of product development processes

  • Must be able to outline how to use OKRs or similar frameworks

  • Experience holding leadership / mentoring responsibilities within a startup or bigger organization.

  • Experience leading an engineering team

  • Ability to find reasonable trade-offs between perfectionism and robustness. 

  • Independently increase knowledge about different programming languages / services technologies.

  • Identifies and directs the team towards areas for improvement. This includes both technical aspects as well as topics related to processes, collaboration and team structure
