Backend Developer – Decentralized App (Rust / Blockchain) Remote – Europe / West & South Asia Time Zones Preferred
We're building something meaningful on the blockchain and are looking for a backend developer with experience in Rust and a strong interest in decentralized technology.
Cashier is a no-code transaction builder for payment, donation, tip, airdrop, swap, etc in minutes with their phones. Our goal is to empower non-coders to utilize light-weight web3 transactions for user engagement, as well as payments. The foundation has been built on Internet Computer (IC) because of its flexible smart contracts, and we aim to expand use cases as well as chains. The possibilities are endless.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead the design and architecture of backend systems and services for a decentralized application
- Develop core logic in Rust, tailored to the Internet Computer ecosystem
- Stay up to date on evolving IC technologies (e.g. NFT standards, canisters, cycles) and proactively engage with Dfinity and the developer community
- Help the team make informed technical decisions by sharing learnings and best practices
- Contribute to future cross-chain work involving Ethereum, Solana, Bitcoin, and others
About You:
- You have experience building complex backend systems from scratch, preferably with Rust, not Nodejs
- You have real-world experience building on blockchain platforms (e.g., ETH, SOL, BTC)
- You're not just an implementer—you’re a systems thinker who can design and drive technical architecture
- You thrive in fast-moving environments where documentation might be sparse, and take initiative to fill in gaps
- You’re collaborative, thoughtful, and capable of leading with a long-term technical vision
Based in or able to work within European or West/South Asian time zones
Bonus (Not Required):
- Experience with the Internet Computer
- Exposure to decentralized identity, NFT infrastructure, or advanced canister design
