Partner with other Business Units to lead briefs and projects from a creative point of view.This is an exciting, dynamic, and varied Senior Design Management role focused on the development and delivery of brilliant brand creativity to support achievement of annual sales, customer growth and overall business goals.Reporting to the Creative Director, the Head of Design will lead by example, direct and control a multi-skilled team of designers, motion graphic artists and creators to deliver all creative requirements for BINANCE globally.
Key Responsibilities:
- BINANCE Design Management and delivery:
- Working for the Global Creative Director to contribute to the development of the Brand and creative strategy for BINANCE Design, covering design, motion design, some art direction, campaigns, partnerships, email, social media, digital advertising, events and customer communications.
- To ensure that the strategy is clearly documented and communicated to the design team
- To control the timely delivery of creative design in-line with business goals and brand objectives, ensuring ‘best in class’ creative at all times.
- To ensure that the team delivers compelling and differentiating 'on brand' creative for daily, weekly and seasonal brand, tactical and partnership campaigns, ensuring that they reflect the BINANCE brand style and tone and support business goals.
- Accountable for the management and timely delivery of creative design campaigns: Key visuals, campaign design, motion design, storyboards, landing pages, social media, events, email, digital advertising, local markets, localisation and strategic partnerships.
- To be accountable for the quality of design outputs, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement. Motivating the creative designers to explore new avenues of design creation and bringing BINANCE’s creative design to new levels.
- Support the acquisition and retention teams by ensuring the creation and delivery of effective and cost efficient brand design campaigns – generating brand love and engagement.
- n conjunction with the internal partner teams, to learn from the performance of campaigns to continually improve and innovate.
- Devise, propose and deliver a plan for creative asset creation, including graphics and motion design
- Review and optimise all BINANCE creative on an ongoing basis
- Innovate and maintain up to date knowledge of crypto, competitor landscape, branding and design trends and art direction.
- Creative Operations & Finance:
- Working with the Creative Director, Creative Operations Lead and wider Global Marketing, Product Marketing and Social Media teams to define and control 'creative team' processes, ensuring that they are efficient and integrated
- To deputise (when required) for the Global Creative Director and cascade management reporting to the creative team: online campaign effectiveness and results across all marketing channels including SEO, email marketing and social media channels.
- Working closely with Global and Local Marketing partners, ensuring a consistent and optimised approach to all activity.Â
- To help report, control and monitor the Creative Design budget.
- To collaborate with the Brand Design Lead to produce ‘best in class’ style-guides and requirements for branding, design, photography, motion, illustration.
- Team and Relationship Management:
- To manage on a day-to-day basis the designers and freelance design resources.
- Working with the Global Creative Director to set performance objectives for the designers and perform performance reviews in line with business timelines.
- To develop the designers, identifying development needs and training opportunities to ensure that the design team is operating optimally.
- Build strong relationships with external suppliers
- Together with the Production and Creative Operations Lead ensure that appropriate freelance resources are available when required.
- Control, manage, coach and motivate the Designers.
- To implement the Global Creative Director succession plans.
- Maintain and develop strong relationships with other teams and business functions to help facilitate the BINANCE vision.
- To develop the team’s creative and motion design knowledge and skills to ensure all creative is best in class.
Requirements:
- Experienced Design professional with qualifications in graphic design, branding and digital design.
- Minimum of 7 years experience in managing a creative team of designers, creatives, content creators.
- Experience of development, objective setting and performance management.
- Experience of working within a global business.
- Experience working within a design team for a fast paced, high volume online business, delivering high quality creative assets.
- Puts the brand and customer at the heart of the design development process.
- Ability to control and manage to tight deadlines to ensure the timely delivery of daily, seasonal and project works.
- Establishment of best practice processes- review, evaluation and definition.
- Fluent in Adobe Creative Suite apps (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects)Â
- Experience of the end-to-end design process from concept, UI, html and build.
- Basic understanding and familiarity of HTML and digital web design tools. (Figma)
- A creative thinker and idea generator with a strong creative eye.
- A passion and understanding of branding and design.
- Great team player with strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence.
- Numerate.
- Experience in managing third party agencies to deliver results
- Solid project management skills with a positive influential personality.
- Experience of working with task management tools: Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Doc’s, Asana, etc
